İktisadi, İdari ve Sosyal Bilimler Fakültesi
Psikoloji Lisans Programında ilk ve ortaöğretim kademelerine öğretmen yetiştirmek ve Psikoloji Programı aracılığıyla çeşitli ortamlarda profesyoneller yetiştirmek amaçlanmaktadır. Amaç, eğitim hizmetlerine yönelik psikolojik danışmanlık alanında bilgiyi planlayabilen, tasarlayabilen, uygulayabilen ve değerlendirebilen bireyler yetiştirmektir. Ayrıca program, öğrencileri psikolojik danışma ile ilgili araştırma ve projeler yapmaya ve bu alanda bilimsel toplantılar düzenlemeye hazırlamayı amaçlamaktadır.
Dünya Barış Üniversitesi Psikoloji Bölümü’nün amacı, öğrencileri teorik ve uygulamalı akademik programlarla donatarak mesleki kariyerlerine yetkin bir şekilde girmelerini sağlamaktır. Bölüm, öğrencilerini yaşam boyu öğrenime katılmaya, etik ilkeleri uygulamaya, bilimsel araştırmalar yoluyla psikoloji alanına katkıda bulunmaya ve toplumumuza hizmet etmeye motive etmeye çalışmaktadır.
Psikoloji Bölümü’nün temel misyonu, psikoloji alanında meraklı, eleştirel düşünen, bilgiyi üretme ve etkili kullanma konusunda yetkin, mesleki yöntemleri uygulama becerisine sahip, etik ilkelere bağlı psikologlar ve araştırmacılar yetiştirmektir. Buna göre Psikoloji Lisans Programı %60’ı alana özgü temel derslere, %18’i ilgili eğitime, %17,4’ü alana özgü seçmeli derslere ve %4,6’sı alana özgü olmayan seçmeli derslere ayrılmış olmak üzere 43 dersten oluşmaktadır.
