This course offers a comprehensive introduction to the foundational concepts, theories, and issues in Political Science and International Relations. Students will explore the structures and functions of political systems, the behavior of political actors, and the dynamics of global affairs. Emphasis is placed on understanding power, governance, public policy, international conflict and cooperation, diplomacy, globalization, and international institutions.
Through a combination of theoretical study and case analysis, the course equips students with critical analytical tools to assess political events and international trends. Students will engage with contemporary issues such as human rights, security, development, environmental politics, and the role of international organizations like the United Nations.
By the end of the course, students will be able to:
*Understand key political concepts, ideologies, and institutions.
*Analyze international relations through major theoretical perspectives (Realism, Liberalism, Constructivism, etc.).
*Examine the impact of domestic politics on international behavior.
*Critically assess global issues and foreign policy decisions.
This course prepares students for advanced studies and careers in government, diplomacy, international organizations, NGOs, and global business.
